HTML5 Game Developer
We're looking for a creative HTML5 Game Developer to build engaging browser-based games for our Playtura platform, which features 50+ free games played by users worldwide. You'll use Phaser, PixiJS, and WebGL to create addictive casual games that run seamlessly across desktop and mobile browsers. Our game studio ships new titles regularly — from puzzle games and arcade classics to strategy and word games. You'll own the full game development lifecycle: prototyping mechanics, building polished gameplay, optimizing performance for 60fps on low-end devices, and integrating with our platform APIs for leaderboards and achievements. Responsibilities
- Develop 2D games using Phaser, PixiJS, or custom HTML5 Canvas engines
- Implement game mechanics, physics, animations, and particle effects
- Optimize game performance for smooth 60fps gameplay on mobile and desktop
- Integrate with backend APIs for leaderboards, achievements, and multiplayer
- Collaborate with game designers and artists to bring concepts to life
- Write clean, modular, and reusable game code
Requirements
- 2-5 years of HTML5/JavaScript game development experience
- Strong proficiency with Phaser, PixiJS, or similar frameworks
- Deep understanding of game loops, physics, and collision detection
- Experience with WebGL, Canvas API, and WebAudio
- Familiarity with sprite sheets, texture atlases, and asset optimization
- Understanding of responsive game design for various screen sizes
Nice to Have
- Experience with WebSocket for real-time multiplayer
- Knowledge of game monetization and in-app purchase integration
- Portfolio of published HTML5 games
